How Batteries and Virtual Power Plants Add Value to the Energy Transition of Industrial Players [webinar]

Battery storage is essential for the efficient management of supply and demand of renewable electricity in Europe.

Battery storage supports the flexible production of renewable energy. By storing excess energy that’s produced, it is available to be used when renewable energy generation if low, or when there are large consumption peaks on the grid. It helps the grid operator to better manage supply and demand. When a battery has reached its full capacity, industrial sites can be called upon to use the stored energy. Equally, when the battery needs energy, large industrial sites can be asked to temporarily reduce their energy consumption in return for a financial incentive. Centrica Business Solutions works with the likes of LafargeHolcim, Sappi and Foamglas to manage this process through our Virtual Power Plant.
